About The Editor
Amy Sakmyster is a developmental editor and manuscript consultant with over twenty-five years of experience working with fiction and nonfiction authors across a wide range of narrative forms.
Her work includes novels, short fiction, memoirs, interdisciplinary nonfiction, and screenplays. She helps authors bring structure, clarity, and cohesion to complex or layered material.
Amy has edited more than twenty novels and numerous short works across genres including science fiction, fantasy, thriller, historical, and speculative fiction. Several of these projects have received literary recognition, including award-winning novels, short fiction, and anthology work.
In screenwriting, she has worked on multiple projects, including award-winning screenplays and works that have been optioned for development.
She has also provided developmental editing for philosophical and interdisciplinary nonfiction, including manuscripts that integrate scientific, philosophical, and religious ideas into unified narrative structures.
Before focusing fully on editorial work, Amy spent more than two decades in Software Quality Assurance leadership, managing global teams and overseeing complex enterprise programs. This background informs her editorial approach, bringing both analytical rigor and narrative sensitivity to her work.
She works closely with authors to clarify structure, strengthen voice, and bring their work into its finished form.
